Personal Philosophy

Michel’s passion for education goes back to his late teenage years when he started coaching ice hockey. Seeing children mature and improve their social and technical skills on and off the ice was extremely rewarding. It shaped his life purpose: to be an educator and to support teachers, parents and education leaders in making a positive difference in the lives of children. Michel is particularly interested in the socio-emotional and cognitive benefits of mindfulness in education. In the same way we train teachers to teach math, we need to train them in self-awareness so they can better support the development of this foundational skill in children.

Fun facts: Michel has 8 brothers… and 8 sisters! In his spare time, Michel recharges with sitting meditation, cycling, hiking, swimming, scaling up sheer rock faces, or watching an action movie!
